Where Students Design the Navy and Marine Corps of the Future
The 2022 Naval Horizons is now live! Naval Horizons is a student essay contest introducing students to cutting-edge STEM topics impacting the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps through an engaging video series. The STEM topics in the video series include environmental science, aerospace optometry, autonomy, oceanography and more!
Students are invited to watch the videos to learn about Naval STEM challenges and the scientists and engineers tackling them. Then students are tasked to write an essay explaining how the research and the STEM professional presented in the video inspired them and to share their thoughts on the future of the STEM topic.
Up to 5,000 winners will be selected and receive a $200 cash prize! In addition, exceptional essays will be designated Naval Horizons Highest Honors and highlighted on the Naval Horizons website. The submission period for the contest is officially open to college and high school students who are U.S. citizens, and essays will be accepted until November 28, 2022, at 12 pm ET.
