A new initiative designed to get students excited about mathematics by providing them with a setting that encourages exploration of non-standard mathematical problems rarely taught in standard curriculum.  The Math Circle will allow students in grade 6 – 12 (and interested adults) to explore fascinating, open-ended math questions.

The program is being hosted by St. Mary’s College of Maryland (SMCM) Math Department, and will be led by professors and SMCM students.  Sessions are held one Saturday each month at the Lexington Park Library from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM during the school year (no sessions during summer break).  For a list of session dates, please visit the Southern Maryland Math Circle webpage or the events calendar on this website.
